Henk Nieboer graduated as a civil engineer at Technical University of Delft in 1987. He joined the Dutch engineering company Witteveen+Bos in 1987. In Witteveen+Bos he worked for 32 years as geotechnical, coastal engineer and port engineer, project manager for flood defenses and land reclamation works, head of business unit and member of the board of directors. During his tenure at Witteveen+Bos he worked in all segments of the water sector, watermanagement, water technology and – supply and hydraulic engineering. This has brought him knowledge and an overview of the broad water sector and its technologies, and the developments and trends therein. It has provided him with a vast network among end users, producers and providers of concepts and technologies
Henk was director of EcoShape, Building with Nature from 2015 to 2022. In this innovation programme concepts for the implementation of nature-based solutions in the water sector were developed. Henk is the chairman of the advisory board of the Netherlands water Partnership, the umbrella organisation for the Dutch water sector in the international market.
His work experience includes countries such as Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Latvia, United Kingdom, Azerbaidzjan, Belgium, Germany, Singapore, Dubai, The Netherlands Antilles and The Netherlands.
